At Single Source, people matter. And that doesn’t apply just to our own employees or clients… we care about the broader community around us. Giving back is an important part of our corporate mission, and these initiatives bring employees together while benefitting those outside of our office walls.
Here is a quick recap of our most recent efforts!
Second Annual Leuk-OUT
Single Source was proud to be a Gold sponsor of the second annual Leuk-OUT on July 22. Many of our employees volunteered or participated in this exciting swimathon and run/walk. We're thrilled to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - the goal is $100,000 this year!
This cause is especially near and dear to our hearts: Sami, the daughter of our chairman Tony Petrucciani, was diagnosed with leukemia when she was just 12 years old. She went through four months of intensive chemotherapy, which culminated in a grueling bone marrow transplant. Long story short, Sami made it through all of those procedures and untold numbers of medications, and she is now attending Vincennes University.
The goal for the event was to cover 12 miles via a team swimathon, running, or walking – one mile for each year since Sami’s bone marrow transplant on May 13, 2005. This incredible celebration and fundraiser got us closer to knocking out leukemia!
Sponsoring Max Kille's trip to the Skills USA Regional Competition
SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers, and industry leaders working together to help students excel and ensure that America has a skilled workforce. Single Source sponsored Max Kille in the Skills USA Regional Competition in Louisville, Kentucky after he won gold in the local Indianapolis competition. In recognition for his excellent performance in the Indiana State “Action Skills”, he received a $7,500 scholarship to study Diesel Engine Technology and Repair at Lincoln Tech. Max hails from our hometown of Fishers, Indiana and recently graduated from Hamilton Southeastern, the local high school.
Many of our employees have participated lately in local blood drives. Given the importance of donating blood, we applaud these individuals’ selflessness! According to the American Red Cross, someone in the U.S. needs blood every two seconds – which amounts to roughly 36,000 units of red blood cells every day. These donations can change the lives of car accident victims, babies born with sickle cell disease, cancer victims undergoing chemotherapy, and more.
Circle City Derby Girls Fundraiser
Our Project Manager, Sandy Rhodes, volunteered to be the instructor for a May fitness fundraiser supporting The Circle City Derby Girls. In partnership with Revel Fitness, she led a workout to benefit the Indianapolis-based women’s roller derby league. Check out footage of the fun POUND event here! Pound is a full-body cardio jam session, fusing cardio, Pilates, isometric movements, and plyometrics with constant simulated drumming.
